Any organization is only as successful as its team! The current volunteer positions available are:
Knitters/Crocheters
Knitters/Crocheters needed to create clothing and accessories to be donated to survivors of domestic violence in residence. Beginning knitters are welcome. Knitters/crocheters will complete items of clothing, accessory or home furnishing for a woman in need.
Time Frame for completion is about 4 weeks
Suggested items include:
- Handbags / Purses / Crossbody bags / Cellphone cases
- Ponchos
- Shrugs
- Tank Tops
- Hat and scarf sets
- Sweaters
- Belts
- Washcloths (set of 4)
- Pillows (set of 2)
- Throw / Slipcover / Couch Cover
MakeUp Artists/Hair Stylists
Professionals in the hair and makeup field required to assist in planned makeover events held seasonally throughout the year. Current dates being considered are May (Mother’s Day) and October (Domestic Violence Awareness Month) Arrangements are made prior to event with attendee count and location.
Time Commitment: One Day
Donation Support
This volunteer opportunity is best for women of all ages. Volunteers will help to hand out donations to women at domestic violence residences and serve refreshments. Volunteers will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement with the residence participating. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the life of a woman and get a hands on approach to the work that Sue Rock Originals does!
Technical / Media Support
Skilled social media person who will assist in posting and editing on all media platforms. Intern will work closely with the director to create copy and post on a weekly basis across all media platforms.
